A live crowdfunding event is always an exciting happening
Especially when there is dinner and wine afterwards for participants!
Last Wednesday, the Dukakis Center and FEAST Thessaloniki joined forces to host an innovative crowd-funding event at WE Thessaloniki. “A Taste of Change” was an unforgettable fun(d)raising event focusing on new social challenges.
The cooperation between American College of Thessaloniki and Hotel Institute Montreux Switzerland and César Ritz Colleges Switzerland (members of Swiss Education Group) was further developed during the 32nd Philoxenia International Tourism Fair, the most significant and the largest tourism in Greece organized by HELEXPO. One of the companion events was the 3rd Annual “Tourism Destinations” congress, supported by ACT.
Some memories are unforgettable, remaining ever vivid and heartwarming as Thanksgiving Day at ACT was! A variety of activities were held that day starting by the thanksgiving lunch served by the college! It had most of the traditional foods that best represent the thanksgiving lunch and also by eating all together created the feeling of being like home. Also there was a Thanksgiving wall in which students wrote what or whom they are thankful for. So, If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share! That’s exactly what Act students and staff did!
On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 ACT students attended the Leadership Forum 2016 “Talking with Young People: Business Opportunities and Entrepreneurship” event organized by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce at the facilities of the Sarakakis Group of Companies in West Thessaloniki. During the event young people from various educational institutions were informed from top managers and key business leaders on challenges and opportunities regarding careers.
The Michael and Kitty Dukakis Center for Public and Humanitarian Service at ACT celebrated the American general election on November 8 with a public reception at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki.
On October 2016 the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece, in association with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Navarino Network, hosted the 5th International Symposium in Thessaloniki in World Affairs, with further support from ACT - The American College of Thessaloniki and City College. The International Symposium first began in 2012 and has become an important event with a great appeal especially to young audiences in the city.
On Wednesday October 5, the Dukakis Center for Public and Humanitarian Service hosted a round table discussion on “Voting in America” at the U.S. Consulate General in Thessaloniki. Special guests included Michael Ertel, the Supervisor of Elections for Seminole County, Florida, Charles Stewart III, Distinguished Professor of Political Science at MIT, Rebecca Fong, U.S. Consul General of Thessaloniki, and David Wisner, Professor of International Relations at ACT and Executive Director of the Dukakis Center.
On October 3, ACT welcomed educators from our partner institutions across the US and Europe in an Open House event on campus. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know our partners better and discuss ways that we can increase collaboration between our schools for academic enrichment.
