ACT participated in 32nd Philoxenia
The cooperation between American College of Thessaloniki and Hotel Institute Montreux Switzerland and César Ritz Colleges Switzerland (members of Swiss Education Group) was further developed during the 32nd Philoxenia International Tourism Fair, the most significant and the largest tourism in Greece organized by HELEXPO. One of the companion events was the 3rd Annual “Tourism Destinations” congress, supported by ACT. The congress hosted prominent speakers from Greece and abroad who focused on the means and methods that need to be used in order to brand and/or rebrand a tourist destination.
Among the speakers was John A Daly, Director of Quality Assurance of the Swiss Education Group. Mr. Daly delivered a very interesting and engaging lecture to an audience of 300 people, mostly professionals and academic students, under the title “Interventionist Strategies for Correcting a Negative Destination Image”. His session offered a combination of theory and case analysis to discuss how negative destination images are formed and how a negative image can be corrected. The SEG representative also visited ACT's exhibition stand, as this was the first time ACT participated in Philoxenia.
The cooperation between ACT and SEG regards undergraduate degrees in Hospitality and Tourism that are offered via the Anatolia School of Business. The Anatolia School of Business at ACT is very proud for this cooperation and seeks ways to further enrich it in the future with similar joint actions and projects.
