Workshop on Greek Trauma
ACT organised a workshop titled: ‘Trauma in Greek Society: Historical and Contemporary Facets’ on 20 November 2014, from 13:00 to 18:00. The theme of the workshop falls into the broad category of trauma and the rising field of trauma studies. The workshop was linked to a ‘Greek trauma’ internally funded research project undertaken by Drs. Maria Kyriakidou and Maria Psoinos and aimed to expand knowledge and enhance visibility of traumatic instances in historical and social context during the course of the 20th century in Greece. It addressed both collective and individual cases of trauma and consisted of both academic and artistic renderings of traumatized occurrences in Greek society (closing with the theatrical performance based on the play Mea Culpa by Konstantinos Rodis & Ioannis Kifonidis).
